The Wild Horses That Inspired Kindred Wild

Some experiences stay with you forever. My first encounter with Arizona's Salt River wild horses was one of them.

What began as a trip hoping to see these incredible animals became something much more. It inspired Kindred Wild and a deeper commitment to sharing the beauty of wildlife and the importance of protecting it.

This short film captures a few of those unforgettable moments.

My Story

Hi, I’m Katie — storyteller, photographer, nature lover, and advocate for compassionate living.

Kindred Wild was created from a deep love for animals, wild places, meaningful travel, and the belief that even small choices can help create a kinder world. Rooted in compassion, this space brings together photography, field notes, plant-based living, and conservation storytelling to inspire a deeper connection to the natural world and the beings we share it with.

Whether I’m documenting wild horses at sunrise, visiting farm sanctuaries, creating seasonal recipes from the garden, or chasing beautiful landscapes across the country, my goal is always the same: to slow down, pay attention, and tell stories that matter.

This space is for wild hearts, kind living, and those who believe compassion belongs everywhere — in how we travel, eat, create, and care for the world around us.

Thank you for being here.
