A Quiet Morning Along the Creek
A Belted Kingfisher patiently watching the creek for its next meal.
This one had chosen the perfect lookout above what appears to be a small beaver dam - a reminder that one species can shape a habitat in ways that benefit many others.
Waiting. Watching. The creek always rewards patience.
It reminded me that nature is rarely about just one species. Every stream, every wetland, every fallen branch is part of a much larger story. The longer I stood there, the more life revealed itself.
Sometimes the most memorable moments aren’t the loudest, they’re the quiet ones that ask us to slow down and simply notice.
What a special treat it was to witness this little fellow in its natural home. I think I may have found my newest obsession. I’ll definitely be on the hunt for these little guys again.
